John Sterling monitoring sightings

We’re in California at the Pt. Reyes Birding Festival and our host is California native  and local birding expert John Sterling. John began birding at a young age in California back in 1971 and his passion for birds, led him to a long professional career including many years as a staff avian ecologist at the Smithsonian Migratory Bird Center where he traveled the world birding in exotic locales. Despite extensive travels and explorations, John’s heart and home remains in California. He is extremely active as an environmental consultant through his very successful business Sterling Wildlife Biology. He is an ardent conservationist, serving as President of the Central Valley Bird Club for many years, is a local eBird moderator, and has held countless volunteer positions in the local birding & conservation communities. He is an accomplished bird photographer, lecturer, guide, and author. He is currently working on a book on the status and distribution of the birds of California and created and maintains a web page for California County Bird listing. Due to his long dedication & fascination with the distribution of California birds, we can’t think of a better guy to bring the Traveling Trinovids for a whirlwind spin through the area!
